Anthony may be silly?

This is what happens when you stay in Mildura too long (well, other than getting girls pregnant and drinking yourself into beergutville).

You go mental.

Anthony has entered a 24hr MTB enduro… solo… something that was a good idea in my own head for all of 10 seconds. Something I contemplated when I was fit. Something to dream about when I was motivated to punish myself during a race. Err.. well at least he has the motivation bit! The first step is the hardest.. now he just has to haul his butt out of the van and onto the trails.. lots! Dude, good luck! The offer for the Avanti (or bits of it) still stands.

  1. He he… I’m at it again!

This time I’m getting away for a dirty weekend in the Adelaide Hills.

And I’m training too! It did take me 4hrs to ride 80km last week, bonking at 60km with no food or drink and crawled the last 20km… oh, and it was 2am of a work night, but that can be put down to good experience. Learn, eat, rest, move on. Better to bonk in training than during a race.

And I’ll update the anthonymaybesilly blog if I can remember my password too!

  2. Bonking at 2am eh? You sure we’re talking about the same thing? 🙂

    Good luck!

  3. Hmm… interesting how time changes things "Anthony has entered a 24hr MTB enduro… solo… something that was a good idea in my own head for all of 10 seconds. " If I remember right, you’ve done (and finished) two road 24’s, and I’ve three and finished two dirt 24’s. Does that mean I need to pull a finger out and get the score back up? Hmmm…

  4. It’s pretty funny that back then I reckoned I’d never be able to ride for 24hrs. It’s like when I raced in Melbourne I considered a 4hr ride a ‘long one’.

    Get racing!
