On the TT forums, they’re always moaning about sportives, and how Cycling Weekly gives more coverage to them than TTs – that’s because sportives attract so many more riders and therefore potential readers.
Sportives aren’t races?????

Sportives aren’t races, that’s a condition of them being allowed to be run (in the UK), there’s some controversy about listing finishers by time order as this implies competitiveness when they’re supposed to be non-competitive beyond aiming for time standards.
They might not be "races" but they are certainly raced.
