Dan, Dan, he's our man, stocked with beer from Belgium

To bring in the washing or to leave the washing outside, that is the question:

Finally found a half-decent iced coffee today! Complete with coffee ice-cream and whipped cream! Mmmmmm… (still hungering for an Ice Break though).

Consumed said IC whilst trying to work out where to ride to, for my first stop, and then where to sleep once there..

Planning sucks. Why can’t I just pitch a tent anywhere and have a toilet and shower facility magically appear?

  3. you could carry the camping toilet and shower pack. Its small and generally light weight!!

Its called a shovel and a bucket!!

    😛

  4. Nah, I got some info from others. 1) It seems the camp sight ISN’T as expensive as first thought and 2) freecamping in certain places will probably NOT raise any eyebrows.. (just don’t get busted silly hippy!)

I’ll find out soon enough anyway.

    UK Bank Holiday today..

    Night buses are cool.

  5. Ah… planning? I’m doing that for Rwanda at the moment… Bit of a culture shock after cruising around Malawi for a month.

You’ve got a stealthy bike, make sure your tent is stealthy. Hey, why no say hi to some friendly farmers and see if you can stay at their place. They might even take you in. Heck, their daughters may take you for a roll in the hay!

  6. I might ask permission. Depends where I am and what the situation is like.

Farmer’s daughters? I have my eye on another prize, eh Tam? 🙂

  7. Well, if you get one of those farmer’s daughters, bring me home some beef.

OMG did I just say that?

Hehehe what father would let hippy near his daughter?

  8. Hey-la, hey-la, my boyfriend’s back.

    (from the central Australian desert)

Oye, are you still going to Berlin?

  9. Yay! Welcome back Soilerman!

I’ve been catching reasonable glimpses of your blog and Bikesoiler’s progress (when I should be packing eek!).

My main aim is to see a reasonable amount of Belgium and the Netherlands but I would love to make it to Germany. Funds and ‘fun factor’ will dictate exactly how far north I get on the bike..

I have a friend in Heidelberg (Germany) so I’d love to just ‘drop in’ one day 🙂
