1. and.. 39 C on Saturday. 1/4 of the state is on fire, and a big chunk of the northern hills in Gippsland, with my home hills under notice for the weekend 🙁 Scary stuff – it’s early December, not late January. The only consolation is that once it’s burnt, it won’t burn again later in the season (just somewhere else will burn instead!).

2. Ha ha hah hah!

   Tis only the beginning of the fire season. Whilst my town had fires threatening it from all sides lastweek, and the big piliga one is still burning (I can smell it, and it looks rather pretty from this here mountaintop), they are fully expecting parts of it to be relit next time there is a lightning storm.

3. Looney: I did my rain dance in the hope it’d help you guys out but it seems to be slightly non-directional, ie. it absolutely pissed down on me riding to work this morning! Better luck next time eh? Wonder if my bro’s gonna be roped into fire-fighting duties?

   Tim: Hmm.. it pissed down while I was in the office too. Two thunderclaps seems to be all this place ever gets in one go, then some hail. When I rode home tonight (still sitting in knicks eewww!) it was totally dry. Yay! My bike sooo needs a wash though!

4. Bro’s home on leave. He figures he restores stuff up north after cyclones, the southerners can do the fire stuff in Vic.

7. I was out and about again.. magic potions and all.. not sure if it helped. Fires seem to be out of the Aussie news now?
