Hour Record Broken!

www.cyclingnews.com – Hour Record Broken!

“Ondrej Sosenka has surprisingly beaten the world hour record set by Britain’s Chris Boardman in 2000. In Moscow this afternoon, the 29 year-old Czech rider improved on Boardman’s record by 259 metres, riding 49.700 km in the hour.”

I love this record! It doesn’t get enough mention in the cycling world, but I think it’s one of the most insane physical feats. I urge everyone to read “The Flying Scotsman” by Graeme Obree (an hour record holder). There is also a cool thread on cyclingforums about the hour record.

  1. I’m just writing because having no comments was kinda sad. But this is indeed a cool record.

  2. When you have time, you should read Obree’s book. I’d lend it to you but find it somewhat difficult to open cupboard doors in Australia, whilst staying in Groningen..

Does this mean that you want me to leave comments in all your "0 Comments" posts? 🙂

  3. On a completely different note, check out the "Greed Dragon" recipie in http://www.growkind.com/coo… What more could a person ask for? Well, sex and rock’n’roll would be a start I guess.

Do you want to come to my Tupperware part next Saturday? It’s fancy dress.

  4. Here’s some suggestions for alternative hour records:

    * Most beer consumed in an hour

    * Most smoke consumed in an hour

    * Most orgasms in an hour

    * Most Potato Chips eaten in an hour

    * Least thoughts had in an hour

    * Most Barnacles cleaned off a boat in an hour

The posibilities are endless. Hey, how about having an "Hour Record" fest, where people meet in the one spot and try to break/create hour records. While someone is chugging beers, another person is hopping on one foot while the other person is repeatedly taking their clothes off and putting them back on. How cool would that be?

Suggestions for possible hour record attempts will be taken (email me or post them here). The coolest one will recieve a bonafide attempt by myself. There. Bring it on!

    Future Hour Record Holder
