Sat 20th: Hangover not Hannover

Yeah, slow day..

Checked out town briefly but spent most of it sitting around here. I think this is why I actually did some blogging.

My current thinking, other than “why the hell did I order those shots?!” is something along the lines of:

I’m pretty keen to wrap this trip up and get a job back in the UK. I figure I will hit Nuremburg and Bamberg (LPG and Nikolaus both suggest visiting here). Then shoot west to Heidelberg, visiting Renee before she heads back to Oz, checking out the Black Forest area or the Rhine or whatever the hell is over that direction. I was going to visit Munich again but I did it last year and I’ve still got to work out how to get back to London, hopefully with some cash left, so I might skip Munchen. Might also pass on my re-visit to Cologne. I think it is possible to train from Germany to England with a bike but it might be easier going from Brussels? 300UKP or something though!! Shiiiite!!!

In other news: Simon T, another mate from Oz, is also moving his arse to the UK!

Is anyone left downunder?! 😛

In other, other news: I think I would like to work in a youth hostel. Don’t laugh! I can be nice.. sometimes.. Just a thought, but it could be more fun than working in a pub..?

  1. Hey, good to catch up on your news, but it shouldn’t be at the cost of your ‘good times’. Just keep riding! We can catch up down the track.

  2. hey man. . way cheaper to fly then train. . less than 20E + 15-20E for the wheels. . try Ryanair or easyjet. . but pedals are the best way to go. .

  3. Mum:

I’m only blogging now because I’m too stuffed to do anything else.

    anotherbiketraveller:

All I know about Ryanair is that they limit luggage to 15kg rather than the usual 20kg. We had to "add some layers" at the airport to get on the plane last year.

I will check what their website says, but they will probably want the bike boxed and then I have tent, sleeping bag, shoes two panniers and barbag to carry..

  4. What about eating some of your gear? The human body is an amazing thing, and it’s not like you’re pressed for time. Heck, you could make some European versions of "Airport Customs", "RPA", and maybe even have your parents backyard done over by backyard blitz to accomodate your new prostheitic bowel.

    Famous!

  5. OK… when I said gear, I didn’t mean "Gear", just gear. Given recent developments, don’t even think of taking "Gear" through customs, cause I’m not coming over to bail yo’ arse out! Actually… if I was paid to I would cause it’d be cool to go to Europe…

So only get done for smuggling if you’ve got enought money to pay for me to come over and bail you out.

  6. Would you regret not getting your PhD? Would you regret not writing?

I look at it like this: You can write any time. You are doing the PhD ‘now’. I still think you should just finish the damn PhD and THEN live your "life of passion fruit" 😉

But what would I know, I graduated as a software engineer and now I wanna work as a bike courier or in a pub! hahahaha

    DON’T LISTEN TO ME!!!!
