  1. It’s absolutely heartbreaking here at the moment, the news just gets worse with every hour with teams going into affected areas and finding bodies in houses and burnt out cars in Kinglake and beyond. Marysville has literally ceased to exist.

I wrongly thought that by 2pm here on Saturday we were past the worse of the heat and wind, then it started to kick like a bastard. It was over 47C in Northcote, God knows what it reached elsewhere before the pissweak cool change.

Worse still, Brian Naylor and his wife have been found dead in their house in Kinglake.

It’s akin to a waking nightmare, but when we get up tomorrow morning it’s aftermath is still going to be there.

    Sigh.

  2. It’s horrible. I’m just (selfishly, is that wrong?) glad that everyone I know is ok. I hope it stays that way. :S

  3. Thank you for your thoughts. It’s horrendous. We have family in Eaglehawk, Maiden Gully and Kilmore, all safe, but have been through a frightening experience. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost loved ones, precious memories, property, pets, stock, etc. There’s so much devastation. But typically, so many stories of goodwill!! It makes us proud to be Australian. Keep up the good work, so many need so much.
