Hatchback News
“Hatchie is doing well, but still doesn’t like coming inside. He has several different spots he likes in the laundry:
1 – his basket with a blanket in the corner.
2 – top of the freezer with the polystyrene lids.
3 – top of the dryer where I’ve folded a towel.
We’ve seen him wandering around the yard occasionally, and I have to confess he looks more at ease there than when Dad brings him in and he hides under the couch!“
Come on HB, Tango isn’t that big! Take him on! ๐
Triathlon in Brugge
There was a race on in Brugge today, I found out it was:
I know it’s a silly tri.. but I wanna race BAD!!! :S :S
The Rose of the World
William Butler Yeats (1865?1939)
WHO dreamed that beauty passes like a dream?
For these red lips with all their mournful pride,
Mournful that no new wonder may betide,
Troy passed away in one high funeral gleam,
And Usna?s children died.
We and the laboring world are passing by:?
Amid men?s souls that day by day gives place,
More fleeting than the sea?s foam-fickle face,
Under the passing stars, foam of the sky,
Lives on this lonely face.
Bow down, archangels, in your dim abode:
Before ye were or any hearts to beat,
Weary and kind one stood beside His seat;
He made the world, to be a grassy road
Before her wandering feet.

and much hilarity ensued..
I still don't like cider..
Oh well, I tried.
Dan Oz Direct
Met Dan at his Stratford local, drank Carlsberg Export pints. Train to some other station and met Adrian, Beccy and Alex for dinner at a nearby Tandoori restaurant – sorry Arun, this place kicked your place’s backside! Some Indian beer here? Wandered off down the road – Shoreditch or Brick Lane or something? Ended up at Jam Bar for one of Age’s workmate’s going away party. More pints and chatter. Headed home just a little bit pished.
26th May
Slept in after another late night. I think I’m almost on Aussie time again!:S
Went shopping in Ealing this morning and bought some goodies like occy straps, duct tape, blank cd’s, etc.
Came back, burned some CF cards and had PB sandwiches and beer for lunch.
Called Tam on her mob. Phone cards don’t last long this way.. especially when the connection drops out! Grrr..
Tried again with the landline and used up the last of the “New Swifty” card. Good value these.. I might add up the total time and see how close it came to the quoted 642mins.
Ended up heading back towards Covent Garden – used Hoborn station because Covent Garden station is a bitch! (Stupid elevator-only exit).
Wandered around like a wasted sheep again.. it’s what I normally look like so I make the perfect tourist!
Oh yeah, managed to get lost in the tube station in peak hour and ended up at the end of the platform with no means of escape – had to wait until everyone got on the train. Doh! That’ll teach me to not pay attention! I’m not sure which system is more sardine tin-like – London or Japan? Suits all looked kinda squished to me!
Found a cool shop that sells discounted phone cards!! Yay!! ?2.80 for a ?5 card! hahaha (should’ve got the ?20 one). It’s on Shaftsbury Ave or something.. Yay!
Spent some time in a cafe with an iced coffee, sorting out some bank stuff and phone stuff.. and watching more freaks pass by.. and more close calls with peds, riders and motorbikes, vans and cars. I’ll say it again – peak hour is nutso!
Cornish pasty and beer for dinner (Kaltenberg tonight instead of Carlsberg).
Going to try setting up the tent in the dark in the backyard tonight.. the operative word being ‘try’! :S
Stanford Maps in Covent Garden
I caved in and bought two guide books for Belgium and Netherlands.. I’m so addicted to LP guides.. at least these are small and have some little maps.. and beer guides!! ๐
I don’t follow them religiously or anything but if I rock up somwhere it’s nice to see if there’s anything really cool that I should try and see..
I also bought a map of Northern France. All from Stanfords in Covent Garden (http://www.stanfords.co.uk/), and ain’t that place happening! Fark.. peak hour is nutso!!! It’s like 10 St. Kilda’s in half the area, with everyone on speed and/or acid.. Covent Garden, not the map place!
Took Grant and Sheila out for pancakes at The Old Dutch, here in Ealing, after doing some clothes shopping at some brand discount place.. TK somethings??
It’s only about 140k from Ealing to Dover. I’m thinking about spending some time in Cantebury, where Grant and Sheila just got back from, as it’s meant to be really nice..
As for the last few days.. I tired of blogging.. I might write them up, might not.
