Radio Four is static. As you walk away.

So sleepy..

Usually I’m up like a flash in the morning. (Note: this does not mean I’m chirpy and cheerful about it!) This morning, however, Sheila woke me up around 7am after I slept through my alarm – an hour late! Doh! “Can’t I just go back to sleep?” No? Doh!

Lucky I’m sleeping on a futon, because I literally fell out of it – brain really struggling to recruit the various muscle groups needed to lift body vertical.

Vegemite toast, two coffees and a vanilla Coke should help..

Last night was Pump class after an extra-boring day in the orrifice (Terrible Tuesdays are back). Pump was good. I reduced my weights too much but I still felt like I’d worked and it’s preferable to injuring myself. I’ll bump them up again for the next class (Sunday morning, unless I’m wrecked from Franz Ferdinand shenanigans).

Spin class on Monday was good too. We had a different instructor who I thought was better than the one usually taking the classes. She explained the sets before we did each one and then gave a little countdown towards the end. I’d rather have this information than not – it helps push on until the very end. Unfortunately she was only filling in and wont be back. 🙁

Ran “the loop” on Sunday in a poor attempt to kill my foul hangover-induced mood. It worked to some extent, but it was too late as everyone was already cowering in their rooms, forecasting my mood as if the weather, “Dark & Stormy” (I like it! :D). Felt quite slow and sore but time-wise it was actually average or a bit below.

Sidenote: What is it with needing a crap after every run?! Geez! :S

I need to start a moodlog – Monday was the complete opposite of Sunday – uncontrollable laughter and utter stupidity on my part. Great! At least I’ll never be considered “emotionally boring”!

Winter crits are almost ready to start near home and I’m still bike-less. 🙁

Passed up the ticket to Chemical Brothers from Sara’s French mate because getting more would be too expensive. They’ve sold out, so Ebay would be the only option.

Franz Ferdinand should be fun this Saturday with Dan and Shaun (and ?).

Friday 16th is work’s xmas party, Sheila’s Pirate Party and also the night for Fat Boy Slim, so there may need to be some very quick costume changes or time travel!

Trips to Prague and Edinburgh draw closer.

Harry Potter has picked his Quidditch team.

Coke is still one of those drinks I regret buying after the second mouthful.

The sky was beautiful and pink this morning (photos were taken) and when doing squats you need to “stick your azz out like zis”..

Bullsh*t Product of the Week – Phiten

In the tradition of Tam’s: “Most radical… no, most ridiculous new product“, I present:

hippy’s Bullsh*t Product of the Week: Phiten.

Bullsh*t Product of the Week - Phiten

It seems if you can’t get enough Ti on your bike, you should wrap some around your wrists to “increase sports performance and help relieve pain”.

“Phiten has created products that activate cells one-by-one. Fostering “optimal balance,” the basis of our products is “Phild Processing,” a technology that mixes collagen and a highly absorbable pineapple enzyme. This powerful and natural combination enhances cell activity and thus helping to promote a strong body.”

“”Phild Processing” is a process that has been proven to enhance kinetic ability in the body, preventing injuries and back pain. Helping to actualize one’s human potential in sports or in daily life, Phiten’s Titanium products are used worldwide by athletes and other people who have begun to recognize the high potential hidden in these products.”

Sounds like bullsh*t.

But wait! There’s more!

It seems Phiten know how to dissolve titanium in water:

“Aqua Titanium” is the name we use for titanium paricles dissolved in water. It represents Phiten’s successful effort to bond titanium molecules with water molecules, which had heretofore been considered infeasible, using a unique technology,

Phiten’s original technology causes titanium to dissolve in water (Aqua Titanium) and lets the titanium particles thus obtained permeate each fiber of the material fabric. Phiten??s apparel products, made of these specially processed fabrics, deliver the natural health-promoting properties of titanium to various parts of your body.

Click on their “How It Works” page – what do you get?

That’s right.. “404 – Page cannot be found”!!

Good to see even they know their products are bullsh*t!

Don’t forget – You can also buy this bullsh*t for your pets! Joy of joys!

Phiten – a deserving winner of hippy’s “Bullsh*t Product of the Week”.

Internet cafe

Tired and grumpy. Should’ve had my vegemite toast for brekkie. Missed the 10am Pump class after going to bed around 3am and then waking up at 11am. Doh! Must’ve slept through the 6:15am alarm. Might try and make the Tuesday class.

I should ride to Courier Systems and fill out the pay query form to locate my missing 60quid or maybe I’ll go for a run? Or maybe I’ll continue my house cleaning frenzy? Why do I like to clean when suffering from a night out the previous evening? I think some research needs to be done on this puzzling phenomenon..

Grant, Sheila and I couldn’t take the lack of internet any more so we’re paying 2quid for an hour’s access in a local internet cafe. I really want to get some Matt Darey sets on my ipod but I can’t download them here 🙁

Tezz is looking fighting fit for his trip and it was cool to catch up with Simon and Jimbo last night at the Jackdaw & Rook in Clapham. I totally didn’t recognise either of them!! How embarassment!!

Blah, blah, brain is in neutral. I came here for a reason but I can’t remember now.. sheet!

EARL, Leo, cold, books and buses

It’s cold, but there be no snow yet. Soon, my pretties.. soon..

Skipped last night’s BodyCombat class after working late and ran instead. I was feeling good and ended up taking 5 minutes off my PB for EARL (EAling Run Loop). Perhaps it was the temperature or perhaps it was running at night?

I reckon it was under 5degC and with the wind-chill! Damn!! I used my arm-warmers to help prevent my arms freezing and snapping off.

Leo is back from the States and we are heading to the Red Lion tonight for his birthday drinkies (I’m ending my drinking ban a night early – um ah!). Tezz’s Going Away party tomorrow night.

I finished reading “The Elder Gods” by David and Leigh Eddings. I didn’t think it was much chop – very “simple” in plot and delivery. It was something I could’ve read quite happily in Grade 5. His other books are supposed to be better, but it’s not really my style of novel anyway, I’m not really a fantasy fan. At least I can finally start Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!

Caught the bus to work today to see how it compares with the train. It’s 40p cheaper per day (1.80) and about 30min quicker. It’s not the best environment for reading on though and there were no seats downstairs. The windows were totally fogged up so I was worried about missing my stop. I didn’t. I also prefer to use non-road transport, ie. trains. I’ll have a think about it and decide which option is really the best..

It’s very cold this morning so once in the office it was straight into the kitchen for a supersize hot chocolate! I still haven’t been able to find any Milo, but in the words of the Trancesetters: “The Search Goes On”..

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday dude! Have a Guinness for me.

Now, back to me.. 😛

Weather forecasting over here in London is as bad as it is in Melbourne. The -8degC blizzard has obviously been put on hold by a higher power. I’m sure it’s all a conspiracy between newspapers and the meteorologists to create news stories! 😛

Spin class last night was better than the first class but still leaves me cained. I have real trouble standing and pedaling – it’s just not something I do very often. Need more of a warmup too but I’m not allowed on the bikes until the other class finishes. Sooks. Spotted a gym in Richmond which requires some investigation – might be able to use their showers and actually ride to work?

Better do some work now.. Have a nice day people! Will be back online properly soon.

Hold on to your laptop vents.. cold one coming..

Tomorrow is supposed to be -8degC, with a blizzard warning!

I’m from Melbourne for feck’s sake! I don’t even know what a blizzard is! :S 😛

Should be some fun finding out though. I’m crossing my fingers for snow. That’d be frickin’ awesome! SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!

The internet at EalingGeekHive (a.k.a. “home”) has gone down due to its connection to some insanely fast new service, so I’m blogging this from work and getting behind in all my other geek stuff. I think Leo gets back from the States soon and he controls these things. Please be patient, not a patient.

Blah, blah, body is falling apart with the gym stuff, too much weight, too little muscle. Um, I’m passing up free ice-skating tonight to sit on my backside doing nothing. Should be great! I can’t wait!

It’s the end of the day so my brain is fried. If you want more detail on hippy happenings.. well.. um.. make them up yourself!

Here’s a start:

“so hippy went to the market..”

“hippy then said to the policeman..”

“how hippy’s custard tart ended up in her underwear is a long and complicated tale..”

“Don’t press THAT button!” squealed the bystander formerly known as innocent.

And remember folks: Care for your socks and they shall protect you from the evil leprechauns. The End.

We all like coffee, right?

The Year of Coffee Blog

Don’t ask me, it’s silly enough to post here, is all.

MY coffee situation: I’m cutting down the coffee I drink (none at all on Thu and Fri). The instant Nescafe tastes better than the filtered stuff at work. If I could afford it, I’d be buying from cafe’s, but I can’t so I don’t. If I was, I’d go for the “bowl-sized” cappucinos from Costa Coffee. I hate Starbucks for no reason at all. To replace the missing coffees I bought some Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate. At home I’ve been hitting up crusty old Milo, Ovomaltine (same as Australian Ovaltine I think) and Horlick’s. If only water tasted nice by itself!
